MR's hold there value better as there were less made. But if you want to mod I would say go for a 260 as it's the best base model to mod from.
Just do your research very well as good ones are getting very hard to find. I did know of a very nice tme that wasn't allowed to be sold on only kept by the current owner or scrapped as a few years after it being imported it has come to light that it was a ringer from japan. |

I am surprised they where happy to allow it on the road

Only cause it was on the road for some years before it was bought to there attention by a well known evo performance garage and car sales. As the chap had all the receipts and the import docs inculding there hpi check thingy. I know now it's in bits or attached to lots of other evos. lol
The guy who did the actual ringing in Japan has now been charged for something like 50 other counts of ringing. |

Your right - the 260 is a good base. Was using a Rally spec ball bearing turbo.

MR is just "Mitsubishi Racing." You can also get an MR FQ. All the FQs are based on the Jap cars either GSR, or MR, the GSR becomes "FQ3xx" in the UK. The MR becomes "MR FQ3xx"
The FQ has things added in the UK, but what the MR has over the GSR (loosely the MR FQ over the FQ): Self-levelling headlights No additional alarm fob (built into key); Ralliart Wing Mirrors (on some models) Carbon front lip New turbo with titanium aluminium alloy turbo fins & reduction in compressor inlet diameter (15.5) 17in, 11-spoke Speedline Turini alloy wheels Privacy glass Lowered Eibach coil springs 10mm front / 5mm rear Aluminium door sill plates Piano black dash inserts Available in Gunmetal Grey, not available in Black, yellow or blue. Give or take.... . |

Thanks for the replys peeps.
I dont think i want to mod it when i eventually get one, probably down to costs and insurance. You never know though That was some good information that you have given me, i am way off buying an Evo yet but the more research i can do the better. I love the look of the red IX's and have been mooching around this site Welcome to Xtreme UK - The UK's premier supplier of previously cared for performance cars. There are some cracking motors @ Mark - Yes its been long enough |

Where ever you decide to buy the car from, just make sure you do a google search on the garage or car reg before parting with your cold hard cash mate. As recently extreme have taken a battering in regards to selling cars. There are good and bad stories from all places. Things are easy enough to check out these days with the tinternet so as long as you do you research you should be fine.
